At our school, learning extends beyond the classroom through a rich and purposeful program of incursions, excursions and camps. These experiences are carefully designed to complement and enhance the delivery of the Australian Curriculum, providing authentic, hands-on learning opportunities that deepen understanding and engagement.
Incursions and Excursions
Incursions and excursions are planned as part of a day or full-day learning experience directly connected to current classroom programs. Whether welcoming expert presenters into our school or visiting local venues, students engage in real-world learning that strengthens curriculum knowledge and builds curiosity, confidence and connection.
All year levels from Prep to Year Six engage in incursions and excursions throughout the year.
Camps
Camps provide valuable overnight experiences that foster independence, resilience, teamwork and leadership. Each camp is aligned with year-level learning priorities and developmental milestones.
- Year 4 – Kindilan Outdoor Education Centre (3 days, 2 nights)
Students participate in an engaging outdoor education experience focused on personal growth, cooperation and building confidence in a supportive environment. - Year 5 – Apex Camps, Coolum (3 days, 2 nights)
With a strong focus on leadership development, students engage in team-building challenges and outdoor activities designed to strengthen initiative, responsibility and collaboration. - Year 6 – Curriculum Camp (3 nights, 4 days)
Year 6 students participate in a curriculum-linked camp to either Cairns or Canberra. These experiences directly connect to key areas of the Year 6 program, enriching students' understanding through immersive, real-world learning contexts.
Through these programs, students develop not only academic knowledge but also the personal and social capabilities that prepare them for future learning and life beyond school.
