Meaningful Use in a Contemporary Classroom
At Fig Tree Pocket State School we strive for technology use to be meaningful and purposeful. This is part of our plan to develop a FTP Contemporary Classroom.
As part of our curriculum requirements, articulated in the ICT Capability and the Digital Technology subject area, we seek to ensure tecnology use meaningfully supports how our teachers teach and prepares our students for their future in high school and beyond.
Over the last five years we have developed a contemporary classroom model. This has included up-skilling teachers, improving device access, updating ageing devices and aligning use across year levels. Small staff networking groups have been established to enable teachers to share resources and practice, collaboratively develop systems and manage structures across the school.
